The 4 hour work week has some very inspiring lines and some incredibly thought provoking questions. I loved the book and found it to be exactly what i needed to start working harder on on building my own passive income sources. As a Game Developer at heart i still want that to be games but the good thing about this book is that it has actionable info that can apply to almost any type of business.

My favorite question in the book is "What would you do if there were no way you could fail? If you were 10 times smarter than the rest of the world?" I love this question because It gets to the core of what you love as a person. If you could do whatever you wanted and succeed wouldn't you want to be doing what you love. I love making games so to me the answer is obvious. To try what Tim Ferris Suggest in this book you have to be someone who thinks they are the smartest. Its not about being cocky it's about having faith in yourself and that is what people struggle with the most.

Another good exercise in the book was defining your nightmares. A lot of times what people perceive to be a risky endeavor is really just a 4 on a scale of 10 in impact to your life. My own personal example is investing in the stock market. I am so young that anything i lose now is really nothing in comparison to long term benefits of being in the stock market early. My worst case scenario would be losing all the money i put in the stock market, I lose my job (I already did), my girlfriend breaks up with me, i never make a dollar on any of the games i make. It sounds kind of silly saying out loud because i'm half way there but i feel even further away from that happening.
The thing is that my scenario will never play out because i have enough to float on for 1-2 years. The only risk i'm at right now is that in one year no games i create make money and i end up not being able to get a job. I'm sure a lot of people reading this are situation very similar. If you attempted your business idea and it tanks the worst case scenario is unrealistic. The thing is even when things are bad there are always ways to pick yourself up. What's the point of living life safe, I say live life smart. Do things that have high probabilities of success. What has a higher probability of success than betting on yourself?
This book also has a lot of ideas for dropshipping, or starting your own website. It has actionable ideas and examples from real life. There are a lot of great links to awesome websites that would help you with marketing your business and creating your business. If you are someone who is interested in starting their own business and escaping the 9-5 hustle than the 4 Hour Work Week is an great pickup. You won't be disappointed.
